World Disco Soup Day was initiated 10 years ago by the Slow Food Youth Network to fight food waste and come together to enjoy meals made from food that would otherwise be wasted. Today, the event is the world’s largest collective action against food waste, and it is estimated that the event gathers up to 15.000 people on April 25th, rescuing around 75 tonnes of food.

Everyone Can Join – Schools, Slow Food Groups, Organizations
For this 10th edition of the event, everyone is welcome to join in the fight against food waste – individuals, chefs, organizations, schools, restaurants, and groups. You can organize a food-waste-free lunch, host a public Disco Soup, or create an event around food waste at your school or workplace. More ideas can be found on the website!
In the Nordics, the Slow Food Youth Network in Copenhagen gets together at Byens Hus in Hellerup to cook, dance, and share a meal made of vegetables, bread, and other food products that would otherwise go to waste. Learn more about the event!
