Last week the Slow Food Danmark team traveled to Nordjylland to meet and discuss the challenges and opportunities of sustainable fishing with several local actors, including Skaansomt kystfiskeri, Thorupstrand Fiskehus, Jesper Olsen Thorupstrand, Amanda Seafoods and Thorupstrand Kystfiskerlaug – the local coastal fishery association.
The conversation was chosen to represent Slow Food In The Nordic Countries for Good Food Good Farming’s Food For Talk campaign to raise awareness about the EU’s upcoming sustainable food systems law.
Thorupstrand is the only active full-time commercial coastal landing site left in Denmark, and the only existing Slow Food Presidia in Denmark.
If you visit, which we highly recommend, don’t forget to stop at Thorupstrand Fiskehus for some of the freshest and tastiest fish you can dream of!
